For Franchisees

Starting up?

The franchisor should have given you a Disclosure Document, and probably also a sample Franchise Agreement. The fine print in those documents is often a recipe for future potential success or potential problems. It takes the practised eye of a franchising law expert to recognise the issues and give you the right franchising legal advice to deal with them appropriately.

The Franchise Lawyer gives you, as a start up franchisee, detailed legal advice about the potential issues in the franchise system in which you are interested. The advice is in writing and a meeting is held to discuss the advice with you, in person or by telephone or webcam if you are interstate.

Franchise systems about which The Franchise Lawyer has given advice in the past include A4 Maths Learning Centres, Accounting Express Centre, Action International, Aussie Pooch Mobile, Auto Masters, Bean Palace, Boost Juice, Boss Hogs Hot Dogs, Capital Trust, ChemDry, Civic Video, Domino's Pizza, Don't Fret Pet, Equals International, Everywhere Internet, Genesis 53, Gloria Jeans Coffees, Imagine Essential Services, Ink on the Run, Klein's Jewellery, Lenard's Poultry, MBE Business Services, McDonald's, Michel's Patisserie, Mighty Midgets, Mobile Video Express, Mr Rentals, My Community, Nando's, NRMA Safer Driving School, Pet's Paradise, Polar Krush, Pure & Delicious, Quizno's, 7-Eleven, Shopping Trader, Subway, Telcoinabox, The Natural Source, Traglen Oven Cleaning, United Home Services, Video Ezy, VIP Home Services, WSI and others.

The Franchise Lawyer also has an association with other professionals, for instance accountants, with expertise in franchising, who can give you other advice you may need as a start up franchisee.

If you are already a franchisee and have a problem or dispute with the franchisor, see Disputes.
